I’m going to be re-scanning and editing all the comics I’ve done so far with Photoshop. This way my lines will be darker and therefore easier to read and I can save them in the correct file sizes and whatnot. I still don’t really have the hang of it all, but I do have a “how to” book! So that helps!! 😉
Anyway, I just redid the above comic that I had posted a few months ago. So again sorry for the repetition, but since I’m trying to learn Photoshop, I figured this one would be good to try and redo in color.
So over the past couple of years, Coleen and I became obsessed with graphic novels. We got really into Alison Bechdel, Marjane Satrapi, Ellen Fornay, and Ariel Schrag to name a few. I used to draw a lot when I was younger and reading these comics made me miss it. I figured, why can’t I do what these ladies are doing? Why can’t I make some comics or at least just draw again? So I managed to eek out three simple comics during this time. I drew them up on graph paper and then what with us moving to Los Angeles, I never got to transfer them off the graph paper and ink them. Now that we are all settled I figured why not finally finish this shizz?
So I inked up one tonight while watching the season five ending to LOST (and how freakin crazy was that cliff hanger!?! OMG, Juliette!! I can’t wait for the new episodes!!) Anyway, I’ll start doing the rest this month too so hopefully I can post them soon. (but you know how I roll with this blog so that probably means you’ll see them like in a year or two!)
Anyway, here you go, my first stab at a comic. When I first drew this, it was when Paris Hilton was going to jail. Every celeb mag was shouting about it and I got a big miffed when I saw one magazine’s headline read “Inside Paris’ Prison Hell…Lesbian gangs!” Like oh no poor sweet Paris, the prison boogiewomyn are gonna get her! Like really, what self-respecting prison grrrl is going to touch her with a ten foot pole? Paris should be so lucky!!:
